We’re lucky enough to be receiving a steady stream of holiday cards from all corners of the country right now. Whether it’s a store-bought sentiment, a hand-made crafty creation, a photo diary or a newsletter, we ninjas love to hear from friends and family in a real, tangible way — via a card we can hold in our hands.
(Take this one, for example. We found it here, entirely too late for this year’s December shenanigans, but we need to stock up on them for next year!)
We thought there might be some people around town who aren’t receiving stacks of cards — or even visits from friends and family — so we decided to send an envelope of holiday cheer to a local assisted living facility and ask the staff to pass the cards around to some of their residents.
(Incidentally, this mission was inspired by one of our guest ninjas, Maribeth Jencks, who does this with her kids. Thanks for the idea, Maribeth!)
We sent a dozen cards off to Ingham Regional Assisted Living in today’s mail. We hope the cards brighten some days for some of their residents.
Hope your day is bright too. Wishing our friends a happy everything good this season!
