Lansing Bacon Day!

Oh, yes. Bacon. Ninjas love bacon. A lot.

So, apparently, do many of you in #lovelansing, because when we inadvertently got involved in a bacon-themed conversation and added the hashtag #lansingbaconday, people started to get excited.

“Why not have a REAL Lansing Bacon Day?” we thought. And so did the fabulous folks with The Purple Carrot Truck. So we’re joining forces to bring the world Lansing Bacon Day on Wednesday, Aug. 31.

Why such a specific date? Well, because, as luck would have it, International Bacon Day is traditionally celebrated in the U.S. the Saturday before Labor Day each year. But because the Saturday of a holiday weekend isn’t always an ideal time for ninja missions and blogging, the ninjas and the Purple Carrot Truckers picked the Wednesday before that. You know, so you can really prolong that bacon celebration.

So stay tuned to the Lansing Ninjas and the Purple Carrot Truck on Twitter for #lansingbaconday updates. Purple Carrot will be doing a bacon-themed mission that day and they just might be cooking up an awesome bacon special to go along with it.

We can’t wait.

Oh, and in the meantime, send some love Purple Carrot Truck’s way by voting for them in the Food Network’s Great Food Truck Race contest.
