Ninja #1: Pottermania

So, none of the ninjas made it to a midnight showing of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2” last night, but by the looks of our Facebook and Twitter streams, a whole lot of people in #lovelansing did.

Still, we knew there would be big crowds at the theater today, so the Harry Potter mission was a go.

Months ago — like, maybe back in March — I found a bunch of Harry Potter silly bands on mega clearance at Target. I scooped them up for pennies and stashed them in my ninja toolkit for safekeeping, knowing the final film was set for mid-summer release.

Checking the showtimes at Celebration Cinema (where you can see it in IMAX), I chose my arrival time just as the next round of showings was about to start.

The parking lot filled up quickly, and I watched some people literally run from their cars to the theaters. Solo adults, big families, pairs of 20-somethings — everyone, it seems, has Pottermania.

Here are a few of the drops I made. Yes, the flowery gift bags may seem like a bit of an odd pairing, but intermittent raindrops made me think I should protect as many of the packages as I could, so into the little felt bags they went. (Those were on Easter clearance at some point during a Target run, too. I’m nothing if not a frugal ninja.)

Have you seen the movie yet? Do you plan to? Even though Harry isn’t a ninja, we still think he’s pretty amazing.

Haha, thanks!!! My niece and I went to the 11:30 am showing at Celebration and came out to one of these little neat surprises. We were a little confused at first, but it all makes sense now 🙂

Oh, and I hope you didn’t cut your finger on the windshield wiper of my car; those edges are sharp for some reason as I found out when I installed them :/
