No, not the place or even the goodies left behind (more on those in a minute). It was out of the ordinary because a reporter and cameraman followed along.
We’ve been assured our identity is safe, though, and we’re trusting the good folks at WKAR Radio that there won’t be any way for you to figure out who this particular ninja is.
Now, on to the mission …
All this sun has brought on a summery mood, so for today’s mission, I assembled a summer fun goodie bag, complete with a collection of those toys you get soaking wet and throw at your brother, a jumbo size bottle of bubbles, some sunscreen and a couple of snack-size cartons of rainbow Goldfish crackers.
I took the bag to the Hawk Island Park Splash Pad and, even though it was only about 70 degrees and a little breezy — a far cry from the scorching temps earlier this week — there was still a good size crowd of water-happy kids running around.
Normally, I would sit in my car for a bit, size up the parking lot and look for a good target. Today was different, though, with the addition of three WKAR staffers, so there was a lot of shooting of me walking around in all my ninja-ness. (Again, guys, you PROMISE no one’s gonna know, right???)
After a practice run for the benefit of the camera, I did the actual drop on a nearby vehicle. Again, normally, I would have high-tailed it outta there, but we awkwardly stuck around getting more footage. (Please note the oh-so-obvious recording of the drop. Mercifully, no one interrupted our work. Or saw us. I hope.)
In the meantime, enjoy the sunshine in #lovelansing!
