Ninja #1: Christmas Eve at the hospital

Package assembly in the cafeteriaThankfully we don’t know from personal experience, but we’re guessing it’s not the happiest thing to have to spend Christmas Eve in the hospital.

Today’s mission aimed to brighten the day for six patients at Lansing’s Sparrow Hospital. A quick stop into the gift shop and we were armed with a few Santa ornaments, Christmas pins and candy to deliver to some patients in need of a little cheer.

We stopped on the orthopedics, oncology and women’s floors and asked the nurses if they could point us in the directions of some patients who’d appreciate a small gift and a short visit. (Don’t worry, the candy only went to nurse-approved patients!)

One person we talked to had heard of the ninjas (thanks, LSJ!) but most hadn’t. It didn’t matter. We were just happy to have our first face-to-face visit with people who will never know who we are but, we hope, got a bit of a boost on Christmas Eve at the hospital.

Do you have a credit union or bank account that people can send money to in hope to help fund these acts?

    • It’s a great idea, Barb, but we don’t right now. We’ve just been encouraging people to do anonymous good deeds on their own and share their stories with us. Thanks so much for reading our blog!
